Registering your license

1) You received the attached file named "registration-key.dat"

First, open the email you received from us.

Save the attachment (registration-key.dat) of this e-mail into your Gene6 FTP Server installation directory (usually c:\program files\Gene6 FTP Server).

Now, restart the software, move your mouse to the Trayicon manager and click Stop, then Start :

Verify that your license is correctly installed.

You're done!

2) You have not received the attached file named "registration-key.dat" because your mail server stripped it.

Open the email you received from us and scroll down to the "Your license:" line, then select the text between the 2 lines of dashes, right click and select "Copy"

Open Notepad (Start menu / Programs / Accessories / Notepad), and paste the text from the clipboard (right click / Paste)

Now save the file you created as "registration-key.dat" in your server installation directory (usually c:\program files\Gene6 FTP Server).

Note : change file type in "Save as" dialog box to "All files" otherwise Notepad will save the file as "registration.dat.txt" which is not what we want.

Now, restart the software, move your mouse to the Trayicon manager and click Stop, then Start :

Verify that your license is correctly installed.

You're done!

If you're running Windows 2008 or if service no longer starts after license installation, make sure you add g6ftpserver.exe as exception in control panel / system / advanced / performances / dep.
