Hi

Been testing the new v3.2.0 for a week or so now because im thinking of buying a license, but 1 thing that been happening alot is when i have the "G6FTP Server Tray Monitor" up and running for a longer time it totally freezes.

Then when i try and open the "G6FTP Server Administrator" thru Start/Program or thru a shortcut on the desktop to access the server nothing will happend. So i have to shut down the Server and the "Tray Monitor" thru Windows Task Manager and restart 'em again.

Just 2 be sure i it wasn't just my computer acting up i made a m8 install v3.2.0 also and he got the same kinnda problems as me.

Could you paste some server logs ?

Are you using the traymonitor that comes with G6 or a custom one ?
If you get a "file not found" error when folowing a link to my ftp, please use your favorite ftp client and try getting the file again.

Here is the man in server log

2004-11-13 18:08:14 Windows NT 5.1 Service Pack 2
2004-11-13 18:08:14 1xAMD Athlon™ processor 1299 Mhz
2004-11-13 18:08:14 Using WinSock 2.0
2004-11-13 18:08:14 Accounts storage : 'Inifiles v2.8'.
2004-11-13 18:08:14 SSL loaded. Version : OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
2004-11-13 18:08:17 Starting domain 'NetRanger'.

Seems like i didn't enable the domain server log after i reinstalled the server sad.gif

EDIT
I recall now that it doesn't make any difference if i "tested" the server or just left it running.........sooner or later it freezes.

Just been in contact with my m8 and he didn't have any logs since he removed it after testing it for me

Think im gonna install v3.1.0 and c if this "problem" shows up

For what it's worth, I'd had a very similar issue with W2K. The folks at Gene6 were very helpful (as always) and provided a beta version of the next release and this problem was corrected. I bet you'll see this corrected in the next release.

you're using NT right? .. using any scripts in G6?

i've been using G6 now for a few months, have never really had any major problems with G6, i've seen it freeze a few times... but that was due to my virusscan, blocking the functions of scripts... and screwing with the ftp server (in that way) .. it didn't like anything .vbs that had to do with G6 tongue.gif

in your Gene6 FTP Server directory there is an error log ?
what are the last lines in your file log in Gene6 FTP Server\Log ?
there are some info in your windows xp event viewer ?
do you have some others application that can cause problem to Gene6 ?

Do you try to connect to your server before freeze?

You have try to remove e reinstall Gene6?

There are files in your Gene6 FTP Server\Log path?

Sorry, but it's hard to understand the problem with little informations ...

NetMeister, may you create a read-only admin so I can have a look on your config ? (you also need to allow connection from outside on port 8021 if you have a firewall)
